Opened in February 2005 by the Chairman of the Football Association and Vice President of UEFA, Geoff Thompson, the project brings together the administration and outreach development needs of the football association into one location.

Internally, whilst a modest scheme in size and budget, a simple palette of materials has been used to provide 3765 sq.ft. of office space around a common core area. All the spaces are serviced via a raised access floor providing an adaptable office layout to meet the developing needs. The circulation space provides clear and secure boundaries of public and private space, whilst enabling an informal environment to display memorabilia.

For the Durham County Football Association the building provides an organisational base for the 21st century and an environment in which to nurture the game at a grass roots level.
